I want you to know that his primary care provider Jerry Robinson, who spends an average of 11 hours a day Monday – Friday (and some weekends as well) with Charlie, is an inspiration.  Jerry is a young, vibrant person who has proven himself time and time again.  He has been Charlie’s friend as well as his nemesis.  Some of their interactions clearly make me think that Jerry cares for Charlie as he would his own family member.  In fact, my head strong son is quite challenged by Jerry’s brotherly concerns for his well-being.  I have to applaud your agency for finding such an awesome individual who, with the help of the vigilant nursing staff, has been successful in keeping Charlie in his home and out of the hospital! I know that we have some challenges ahead of us with Charlie, especially as it pertains to his health.  However, I am confident in our partnership with Home Care of Rochester.  It may sound dramatic, but it is nonetheless true that without your agency’s involvement in his day-to-day care, Charlie may not be with us today.

I am writing to thank you and commend HCR staff for the care given to my husband Bruce. Bruce’s at-home care was excellent. The staff responsible for the Home Health Aide’s schedules were always pleasant and willingly made every effort to meet our needs.  The billing office staff also was very pleasant and knowledgeable in response to questions. We appreciated the services of several Home Health Aides.  All were well trained, attentive to Bruce’s unique needs, and pleasant.  However, one HHA stood out from the rest. Nadezhda Shklyar (Nadia) was here only two mornings early-on.  She was not only the most skilled, compassionate, caregiver but also the most industrious helper who went beyond the expectations of her job in an effort to be helpful and to make good use of her time. The professional staff assigned to Bruce’s case were exceptional.  They researched Bruce’s neuromuscular disease and ongoing health issues to better understand his needs and to provide the most appropriate care, therapy and equipment.  I hope you will pass along my deep appreciation to the following care givers:

We were fortunate to have Clarence Ziegler assigned to her case. It was apparent from the start the he was exceptional.  Mother was not always eager to begin the exercise routine but each visit Clarence was successful in encouraging her to complete the entire series.  Not only did he explain the exercises to her but he took the time to talk with her about some of the other aspects of her life i.e. the importance of wearing the Lifeline button, reminding her about taking her daily medications, teaching her safety tips about walking, etc. Clarence referred me to HCR social worker, Trisha Fast. She visited alone with Mother and then she and I explored options both within and outside of the home.  Not only were HCR’s services outlined but Trisha also followed up our conversations with booklets about geriatric/memory clinic resources, Kodak 6000 application forms, etc. Once again this HCR professional extended herself beyond the required service; she reassured me that I am facing a problem for which there are appropriate services…
